The Monroe County’s Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect after two cars were stolen from a Sunoco station on Plank Road in Penfield only weeks apart.

Through surveillance video captured around 6 a.m. Thursday, the suspect is seen going behind the pump, between the vehicles, and out of sight of the entrance.

The suspect has been described as a thin black male, either a juvenile or in his earlier 20s.

After viewing the footage, an anonymous victim said she was in complete shock when she saw her car driving off the lot.

“I turned around and the witness that was out there, at the time, said, ‘hey some dude just stole your car,’ and I immediately turned back around and called 911,” the victim said.

The victim’s car was recovered on Weaver Street by Rochester Police officers. The other car was recovered as well.

Sgt. John Watson says no arrests in the two Penfield thefts have been made, but anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call 911.
