Cardinal Timothy Dolan has brought in a third party to review the Diocese's abuse allegations.

Former Judge Barbara Jones is going to review policies and protocols when it comes to how the New York Diocese deals with abuse claims.

This comes at amid a worldwide scandal throughout the Roman Catholic Church of abuse at the hands of clergy.

Jones says she's already begun her work looking at practices of the last 25 years.

“Based upon this review, I certainly see a robust infrastructure in place with the arch Diocese. But my job now will be to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing programs and policies in that infrastructure,” said Jones.

“If one of my worries is that I am losing the trust of my people, and that is a worry that hurts me deeply, which I shared with you in the beginning, well then I'm going to have to have somebody on the outside look into it and tell my people, ‘Well you can trust him, he's doing what he promised, or here's some things that weren't quite being done and I've asked him to correct it and I'll let you know if he does,’” said Dolan.

Recently, New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood opened a clergy abuse hotline and online form for victims to file complains.
