IRONDEQUOIT N.Y. – East Irondequoit's Eastridge Lancer Marching Band held its annual field band show Saturday evening.

It was the moment many student musicians had been waiting for, showing off skill and precision.

Students from the Marcus Whitman School District — who were first up — did just that during the “Rainbow of Stars” marching band competition Saturday night at East Irondequoit Eastridge High.

Emily Lehman, a student at Marcus Whitman said, “The feeling afterwards feels so surreal and you’re like, ‘Holy crap, we just did that together.”

Her bandmates Jonathan Lasek and Jenna Kinner also chimed in.

“It’s really cool, I do it all the time pretty much. I really like to perform, especially music,” said Lasek.

“It’s also heartwarming to watch and seeing growth within the band and in their music,” added Kinner.

The show featured 10 bands, some in which are Webster, Victor, Orchard Park and West Genesee.

This year also marks the 40th anniversary, so band alumni were welcomed back to be celebrated.
