The man questioned by federal authorities on the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel has been released from jail on unrelated armed robbery charges from 2011.

The Chili teen went missing back in 2009 while on spring break in Myrtle Beach.

Timothy Taylor was convicted of armed robbery in 2011.

He already served state prison time for those charges, but in 2016, federal prosecutors charged Taylor a second time in hopes he would give information on Drexel's disappearance.

Prosecutors say Taylor answered no to two questions: if he knew who was involved, and if he had ever seen Drexel.

They say he failed a lie-detector test.

They also say he became belligerent in a follow up interview about Drexel.

According to an article by Charleston newspaper The Post and Courier, Taylor was expected to be released on bail with a GPS monitoring bracelet.

As for the Brittanee Drexel case, her body was never found.

In 2016 the FBI ruled Drexel's death a homicide saying she was taken, held against her will, sexually assaulted and eventually killed.

No one has been charged with her death.
