LODI, N.Y. -- People in the southern Seneca County town of Lodi who were caught in a deluge Tuesday were one day later assessing the damage and beginning to clean up the dirt, debris and flotsam left behind by flash flooding.

On Lodi Point, people who were evacuated from their homes were escorted back in by the National Guard. More than 60 people watched cars and parts of their homes wash away. Some of those homes are likely condemned.

With some roads closed in the area, and as clean up duty and damage assessment continues, boaters are asked to remain out of Seneca Lake. Well water could also be contaminated.
