First responders in Brockport got a realistic feel for an active shooter situation on Wednesday as part of a training exercise at the College at Brockport.

A portion of campus was closed for several hours for the exercise.

Nearly a dozen different public safety agencies went through a mock active shooter situation in one of the dorms.

"This is the ideal situation where you can make it realistic and go through things and try to learn from how you can respond better. We are going to learn about how communication is going to work and how to get information out to people. There are a lot of parents who have children here and we are trying to keep them safe."
