ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester teacher who had been missing since Friday has been found safe.

Ellice Harding's daughter confirmed that her mother was located Tuesday morning.

Harding left Joseph C Wilson Foundation Academy on Friday morning with a duffel bag, leaving behind her car and phone.

Harding's husband says he and his son found her wandering at a Walmart in Victor on Tuesday.

“I stopped believing in god a long time ago, but I prayed to him and I felt so hypocritical, but there has to be a god. This is a miracle that we found her and happened to go into Walmart at the same time,” said Greg Harding, husband.

Greg says his son was staying with him from out of town while they searched for Ellice over the weekend. They stopped at Walmart when his son ran out of clothes. He says she was coherent, but disoriented.

The East Rochester Police Department says Ellice got off an RTS bus Friday morning just before 10 a.m. at East View Mall. From there she was seen walking down 96 toward High Street by Mall Security Cameras.  She was last seen wearing a black coat over a white purple cardigan and black pants.

Greg says there were signs of depression leading up to her disappearance.

“If someone’s acting depressed or says something about hurting themselves call somebody. That’s why this whole thing I felt so guilty about, but I get a second chance and she gets a second chance and we have our first grandchild coming in July and she’ll be able to see him. This is my most awesome day ever, the best day ever,” added Harding.

“We don’t know exactly where she has been, but she did indicate that she was in the woods somewhere. She’s a little disoriented, so we don’t know exactly,” said Steve Clancy, East Rochester Police Chief.

Drones, helicopters and dogs were a part of the search efforts. The scuba team was set for training Monday and were to continue the search efforts Tuesday in ponds behind the mall.

Elise was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
