WEEDSPORT, N.Y. -- Family and friends gathered at Weedsport High School to hold a candlelight vigil for graduate Kayla Cox, who died in a crash on Monday.

When the goodbye is unexpected — it is never easy.

Thursday, dozens gathered to said goodbye to beloved Kayla Cox.

The 19-year-old drove off the road and into trees in Cayuga County, dying as a result.

Her best friends say that Kayla, losing her mother at 8, had a different outlook on life than her peers.

A Steelers fan, Kayla lived with only her father, and lived a life that impacted many.
