An Avon Central School District student is in jail after making threats against the district's high school.

The Sheriff's Office is not releasing the name, but deputies say a 16-year old was arrested Tuesday and charged with making a terroristic threat, which is a felony.

The suspect also faces misdemeanor charges, including criminal mischief, falsely reporting an incident and lying in a written statement.

This all follows the discovery of a threat written in a bathroom of the high school last Friday.

The student was arraigned in Avon Town Court and taken to jail on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
