ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The 120th Lilac Festival in Rochester is officially over and crews are taking down the tents and picking up the last few tons of garbage Monday.

No exact estimates yet, but the ten-day festival draws as many as 500,000 visitors each year.

The Lilac Fest is the unofficial start of the rochester area's summer festival season, with Party in Park, Jazz Fest, and Park Avenue Fesival — among many more — coming in the following months,

The festival itself may be over, but experts say that people can still enjoy more than 200 varieities of lilacs and other flowers, trees and shrubs in bloom at Highland Park for the next several weeks.
