A serious car crash in Genesee County apparently happened as the driver was having a heart attack.

Sheriff's deputies say the man in his mid-50s was driving on South Street Road in Pavilion last night when he went off the road into some trees.

A man and his mother say they saw smoke coming from the woods and found the man inside his pickup truck.

They pulled him out and performed CPR.

"It was amazing. She probably couldn't have gotten him where I got him to, and she took over from there, so it was a great team effort,” said Pavilion resident Joe Condidorio, whose daughter was also calling 911 after seeing the crash.

Deputies say the driver was taken to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

His name and condition are not being released.
