The Fairport Police Department announced the arrest of two people yesterday following a three month investigation into the sale of cocaine and heroin in the village.

37-year-old Scott Wagner and 27-year-old Jessica Noto were both arrested following a traffic stop in Fairport.

Wagner is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Noto is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both are due back in court on Tuesday.

Fairport Police say their investigation is continuing and there could potentially be more arrests.

They also say they are pursuing property seizures in connection to the investigation.

Fairport Police Chief Sam Farina released a statement on the arrest, saying, “Given the seriousness of the opioid epidemic locally, we will not tolerate the sale of drugs in our community. The full weight of law enforcement both federally and locally will be used to pursue drug dealers who are promoting drug addiction.”
