The Urban League of Rochester received a $20,000 grant to help high school students transition to college.

The grant will go toward Project Ready STEAM, a high school to college transition program for minority and disadvantaged high schoolers.

The initiative will focus on digital education.

Urban League president and CEO William Clark says the program will benefit the community at large.

"They will teach their parents, their siblings, their neighbors and senior citizens that live in their community the benefits of the internet," said Clark.

The Urban League is one of 17 recipients of the inaugural Spectrum Digital Education grants. Spectrum News is owned by Spectrum.
