CHILI, N.Y. -- Two people are being treated for injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital after a crash on icy roads early this morning in Chili.

Monroe County sheriff's deputies say a pickup truck was driving too fast for slippery conditions when it slid off of Paul Road around 12:30 a.m. Sunday while crossing over the bridge over 490.

Deputies say the truck struck a guide rail and flipped onto its side before it burst into flames.

Both the driver and passenger were taken to the hospital to be treated for various cuts.

Deputies say the driver, 21, from Elma, was ticketed for unsafe speed and failure to maintain lane.

Chili's Department of Transportation was notified to salt the area due to slippery conditions.

Paul Road and the 490 west ramp at Chili Center Coldwater Road were shut down for Just over an hour and a half for the incident.
