With an ice storm expected to impact our area until Sunday, NYSEG and RG&E are coordinating preparations with state and local authorities.

An ice storm warning has been issued for Monroe, Livingston, Orleans, Genesee and Wyoming counties from 2 p.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday. Significant ice accumulation is expected.

Be prepared for power outages due to strong winds and ice. Travel will be difficult at times.

Customers are urged to stay away from downed power lines.

Multiple areas in the western portion of the state across NYSEG and RG&E service areas are on alert, particularly in Lancaster, Lockport, Rochester, Canandaigua, Sodus and Geneva.

Customers are reminded to keep working flashlights nearby and to check in on elderly family members, friends and neighbors.

NYSEG customers are asked to call 1-800-572-1131 to report downed wires. RG&E customers can call 1-800-743-1701.
