ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A temporary road closure is now in effect at the Rochester International Airport as part of the ongoing renovation project there.

This is a major revitalization project, so along with all that construction comes some changes to the roadway travel routine out there. This one is specifically about when for drivers coming to the airport to drop people off for their departing flights.

Starting Friday, all upper level roadway departure traffic will be closed. Detour signs will direct motorists to drop off passengers flying out of Rochester to use the lower level arrivals road instead.

Passengers should expect lane reductions when entering the terminal property from Brooks Avenue.

The airport says this is a necessary detour for the terminal entrance canopy project that's underway.

This roadway closure will remain in effect until October when the $79 million renovation project is expected to be complete.
