Bryan Gifford, 22, will spend 40 years behind bars after pleading guilty Friday to killing a man on the city's west side last summer.

Gifford pleaded guilty to charges of first degree manslaughter for the death of Antwan Hines.

Prosecutors say Gifford shot Antwan Hines while he was sitting in a car in Chester's Plaza on West Broad Street last June.

Hines was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Gifford also pleaded guilty to a separate incident in which prosecutors say he robbed an ESL Federal Credit Union.

His sentencing is scheduled for May 23rd.
