ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The funeral service for Rep. Louise Slaughter will be held at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre in Rochester on Friday at 11 a.m. The event is open to the public as seating allows.

CHECK-IN PROCESS

General public seating assignment and required check-in point for the general public will begin at 9 a.m. on East Main Street by the Eastman East Wing, Wolk Atrium Entrance. Doors to enter Kodak Hall Theatre will open at 10 a.m. Kodak Hall holds approximately 2,300 seats; overflow seating will be available at simulcast locations in Kilbourn Hall and Hatch Recital Hall, both at the Eastman Theatre. Attendees should expect security measures, including bag searches, to enter the building. All members of a group/party must be present at the time of entry/check-in.

IN ATTENDANCE

Former President Bill Clinton will accompany his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who will be speaking at the event. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will be in attendance as well. Civil rights champion Rep. John Lewis will join members of the Slaughter family and friends in speaking during the funeral service. Officials anticipate 40 or more members of Congress to be present.

PARKING

The East End Parking Garage will be open free of charge from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Information about Downtown parking garages and surface lots can be found by visiting www.cityofrochester.gov/parking/.

STREET CLOSURES

Several city streets near Eastman Theatre will be closed until Friday afternoon. The Rochester Police Department will manage traffic control on Friday morning.

• Gibbs Street from East Avenue to Grove Street will be closed from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Swan Street from East Main Street to East Avenue will be closed from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• East Main Street from University Avenue to Chestnut Street will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
