ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced a set of sweeping infrastructure investments for the county on Thursday.

Dinolfo announced that the county has allocated $32 million dollars in 2018, and $180 million through 2024 for infrastructure improvements.

This includes improvements to paving projects, highway rehabilitation, bridge maintenance, lighting and traffic infrastructure. She also says that these improvements will create and sustain almost 4,000 jobs over the course of the funding period.

"If we are looking at every dollar invested returning $3.54 of economic impact,” Dinolfo said. “Our investment is going to generate $110 million in economic activity in 2018 alone. That really is a significant economic contributor to the county of Monroe."

The 2018 funding total includes money from both the State of New York and the Federal Government, with roughly two thirds coming from the County's Capital Improvement Program, approved by the Legislature in December.
