BRIDGEPORT, N.Y. --With the opening of the new Point Place Casino, some may question if our region has too many casinos.

This marks the fifth casino and third owned by the Oneida Indian Nation in Central New York.

Point Place joins the Nation's Turning Stone and Yellow Brick Road Casinos along with non-nation run Vernon Downs and del Lago.

A recent report shows del Lago Casino in Tyre did not reach its projected revenue in its first year of operation.

"We take a long term at when we invest," said Oneida Indian Nation C.E.O. Ray Halbritter. "And, we've been looking at this region for quite some time.  And really the market, we understand the market, we study the market so I think it will work really well.  I think it will be really well received by the region," said Halbritter.

Spectrum News also spoke with local business owners on Route 31 in both Onondaga and Madison Counties. They believe the new casino can only help their revenue.
