ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police say five people ended up in the hospital after a head-on crash early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the area of Ridgeway and West Ridge Road around 3 a.m. to find two vehicles with front-end damage.

They say it appears one vehicle ran a red light, however both drivers told police they had a green light.

Officers say they could not find any direct witnesses.

Both drivers were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. Three passengers in one of the vehicles were taken to Rochester General Hospital.

Police say none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

No charges have been filed at this point.
