CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Within minutes of Jerry Richardson announcing his plans to sell the Carolina Panthers, businessman and hip hop mogul, Diddy, said he’s up for the opportunity to buy the billion-dollar franchise.

He posted an Instagram video saying, “Attention to the Carolina PANTHERS!! ATTENTION NFL! This is a chance to make history!!! There are NO AFRICAN AMERICAN MAJORITY OWNERS IN THE NFL!!!! I WOULD LIKE TO BUY THE CAROLINA PANTHERS!!! Let’s GOOOOOOO!!!!! Spread the word. Tell the world! No joke.”

In the video he said if he is able to make the deal, he would address the Colin Kaepernick situation and possibly start him as quarterback in the following season over Cam Newton.

“It’s just competition,” he said.

Shortly after, Kaepernick weighed in saying he would rather be a part of the ownership.

Diddy added that he would have the best half-time show and "win Super Bowl after Super Bowl."

North Carolina native and Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry also tweeted Diddy saying, "I️ want in!"
