ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Some Allendale Columbia kindergartners took a special field trip to Target Wednesday to purchase gifts for families associated with the Hillside Family of Agencies.

The students raised $1,300 dollars through a bake sale. All of the money will go toward gifts for underprivileged families as part of the Hillside Special Santa Program.

"I think its a great lesson for them to have growing up, to know even at age five, you can help others who are in need," said Barb King, their teacher.

More than two thousand children are served by Hillside Family of Agencies in the Rochester area.
