CALEDONIA, N.Y. -- A jury reached a guilty verdict in the murder trial of a man who killed a woman and set her body on fire in 2016.

Aykut Ozkaynak, 42, was convicted of murder and tampering with physical evidence.

The jury deliberated for 40 minutes before reaching the verdict.

A co-defendant, 42-year-old Mary Neverett, pleaded guilty to manslaughter last month.

The two killed Patrice S. Miller, 64, of Gates in July of last year.

They then set the victim's body on fire on a back road in Caledonia.
