ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Scuba Team returned home Tuesday evening after helping with the search for a missing police diver in Buffalo. 

Craig Lehner's body was retrieved by recovery teams from the Niagara River Tuesday afternoon. Lehner went missing Friday while participating in dive training exercises. 

According to reports, his body was located approximately 160 feet from the shore. 

Capt. Paul Delella of Monroe County's Sheriffs Office says the the diving team was prepared to assist in any way necessary.

"We have to train in these situations because you know we might be called to help people in these situations. It really shows that we have to be careful and diligent in our work efforts," Delella said. 

The Rochester Police Department divers also helped with the search efforts.
