ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A $25 million price increase for the renovations at Greater Rochester Airport has been secured.

Monroe County spokesman Jesse Sleezer says that the project cost has jumped to $79 million.

The extra funds were unanimously approved by the Monroe County Legislature Tuesday night.

He says part of the reason is the addition of state-of-the-art security features to the proposed airport canopy.

Sleezer notes that the project is fluid given the unique collaboration between the county, state and federal governments.

According to him, nearly $40 million will come from the state, $25 million from a charge built into ticket sales and the remaining $14 million will come from the airport authority's revenues.
