ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The woman originally charged with murder in connection with a Labor Day homicide in Gates has been indicted on a lesser charge.

A Monroe County Grand Jury indicted 40-year-old Doris Carrasquillo for first degree manslaughter.

She is accused of fatally stabbing her partner, 28-year-old Kashmire Redd during an argument.

Officers found Redd lying outside the Coccia Crescent apartment early September 4th.

Redd was later pronounced dead at at the hospital.

Police say the two had been in a relationship for a few months and that Carasquillo confessed to the crime.
