The summer's cool, wet weather has left Upstate New York looking lush, but could the rain dampen this year's fall foilage?
According to a professor at SUNY Cortland it all depends on what temperatures the region sees this fall.
Vibrancy of colors is dependent on rainfall, but, the professor says sunlight is the key.
"In the fall to see the most bright colors you want sunny mornings with cool nights," said Andrea Davalos, SUNY Cortland assistant professor.
Experts say when it's sunny in the fall there will be more photosynthesis, which leads to more vivid colors.
