ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The YMCA served up some fun ways for kids to get outdoors this summer.

More than 300 city children and teens spent their time off learning and playing tennis.

It's the Y's Love-15 summer tennis camp for kids ages 8 to 16.

Kids are chosen to attend the free camp based on good behavior and sportsmanship.

It's an opportunity some may not have had otherwise.

"It's nice, I started the program when I was nine years old and I've gone through five or six years. Just coaching, and seeing all the players become coaches and all the new kids come in, it's really great to see the new talent. Usually they have never played tennis before. Usually this is their first experience," said 15-year-old Ross Janezic.

"It helps when you're playing a doubles match, working with others, [with] this program you meet new friends. It's just a great time during the summer," said 16-year-old Wanya Hudson.

The Love-15 tennis camp is in its 26th year.
