ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Before the 16th edition of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival begins, and continuing through its 10-day run, heightened security measures were set into place.

A larger area around the main venues on Gibbs and East will remain closed throughout the festival. People will also see bigger concrete or metal barricades, more uniformed officers, and police cars and large trucks blocking street entrances.

Police say there are also other measures they won't disclose publicly.
