ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The City of Rochester wants to help teenagers get ready for employment with some seasonal job training. The Summer of Opportunity Program is accepting applications now for the next job readiness program.

The job readiness employment program is open to youth ages 14 - 20 who live in the City of Rochester or Monroe County who meet the eligibility guidelines.

The city works with RochesterWorks! to provide job readiness training to interview for paid summer jobs for 6 to 8 weeks during the summer.

Students have a chance to work in R-Centers, colleges and dozens of private companies. Students can apply online now through the City of Rochester or RochesterWorks!

The deadline to apply online is March 13. Applicants must also submit supporting documentation such as report cards, photo ID's and work permits for the program at RochesterWorks! at 255 North Goodman Street.

RochesterWorks! will be open for that step in the registration process on March 25, 26, 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday March 28 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
