Kendall started out the 2018 girls soccer season 1-2 and with a lot of young players. Since then, the Eagles have gone 15-2 and have earned a spot in the State Class D semifinals on Saturday.

Coach Pam Barchet says she had nine players when tryouts began in August and she had to bring up seven freshmen just to have a team. The Eagles took their lumps, too, playing in a league featuring Byron-Bergen and Class C Champion Wheatland-Chili.

But with strong goaltending and leading scorer Hailee Mitchell scoring 27 goals this season, Kendall is ready for the States experience.

They face Cincinnatus in the Class D Semifinals at Homer High School Saturday in search of the school's first New York State team title.
