ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Eddie Meath Senior All-Star football game, scheduled for Sunday at Eastridge at 2 p.m. is being pushed back to 6 p.m. due to high temperatures.

Meath committee member Frank Marafino delivered the news to East Coach Dennis Greco at the end of practice on Wednesday.

"It makes a lot of sense," said Greco. "If the temperature is 95 degrees and you're on turf, that's another five to ten degrees, especially on a sunny day, so to move it to 6, it's better for the safety of the players, cheerleaders, even the spectators, referees and everybody so, I think they made a good move by moving it to 6."

Marafino and the other members of the committee are retiring after 36 years of running the game, leaving the future of the game in doubt.

The game benefits the Golisano Children's Hospital.
