Your leftover arts and crafts supplies could help give back to the Fairport community.

Volunteers at Crafts Bits and Pieces have been collecting all kinds of yarn, fabric and beads for nearly 15 years. Those donations will be sold to benefit the Senior Living Council which provides case management and transportation to senior citizens in Perinton who live at home.

"People wait longer, which is great, they are still out in the community. What we are trying to do is keep them there. We cannot afford to have them in skilled nursing or higher levels of care. The idea is to help people stay independent longer," said Garth Brokaw, President of Senior Living.

Craft Bits & Pieces is open Wednesday through Saturday at Village Landing in Fairport.

All donations are tax-deductible.
