ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Cars were lined up and down Sunday the street as people dropped off their old electronics for recycling.

The E-cycling event at Monroe County Eco-park was sponsored by New York State Sen. Joe Robach (R-56)

Dozens of TVs were recycled, along with everything from laptops to DVD players. The event allows people to properly dispose of their electronics, keeping potentially hazardous items out of landfills.

"We want to get everything out the correct way," Robach said. "This is the mechanism that lets us do it. And as you can see by the large turnout, I think most of the people in our community agree with that and want to participate."

Charter Communications, the parent company of Spectrum News, was among the sponsors of the event.
