HILTON, N.Y. — The Hilton School District will hold a public forum Wednesday on whether or not the district should arm security guards at schools.

The first meeting is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the multi-instructional room at Merton Williams Middle School. The second meeting is also from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the middle school on Monday August 13.

"The proposal of arming retired law enforcement who currently serve the district as security to help improve the safety for students and staff," said Dr. Casey Kosiorek, Hilton Central School District Superintendent

Kasiorek is also encouraging parents to weigh in through a confidential online tool called Thoughtexchange.

They have two options available for parents, one in English and one in Spansh.
