BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The countdown to summer break is on for schools across the area.  One school district is delivering books right to students to encourage them to read during their time off. 

The Brockport Central School District is ready to put its Book Mobile on the road. Technology students are making and installing book shelves that'll hold hundreds of books for students K throuugh 12.

 

The mobile library will travel to several neighborhoods in the district's 72 square miles.

"Our goal always is to get book in the hands of kids and to encourage reading whenever we can," said Kathy Jaccarino, Brockport Library Media Specialist. "We want kids to love books and love reading and summer is the perfect time to enjoy all of that."

The bus will start making its way across the district July 11.

Kids can check out books all summer. 

The district is looking at ways to use this bus during the school year as a possible science lab or food pantry.
