ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The latest community "report card" is in and data shows the Rochester region is still falling behind in education, health, arts and public safety.

ACT Rochester says those numbers are more than 10 percent below the rest of the state.

The group released its 7th annual report Thursday, which uses data to track overall well-being in nine county region around Rochester in about 100 categories.

On the other hand, Rochester is considered equal to or better than the rest of the state when it comes to community engagement, children and youth, economy and housing.

New this year, ACT Rochester is updating its website to include data from other local cities as well.

"We're adding Batavia, Geneva and Canandaigua," said Ann Johnson, ACT Rochester senior director. "We've put some charts together to compare how those cities and Rochester are doing against our region. We think that's a nice way to desegregate data and get more people involved in our cities."

Findings are meant to help community leaders make decisions about community resources.
