New York state residents head to the polls on Tuesday for the 2016 General Election.

Voters will cast ballots for U.S. president, U.S. senator and representative in Congress, as well as New York state Senate and Assembly members, and New York state and county justices. 

Polls in the city open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.

CONGRESSIONAL RACES: Of the upstate New York's 10 congressional races, only two do not involve incumbents: the 19th District race to fill Chris Gibson's seat, and the 22nd District race to fill Richard Hanna's seat.
