Irondequoit Police need your help solving a deadly hit-and-run accident over the weekend.

Joan Dierna, 87, was killed Saturday morning when she was struck by a car on Bayview Road. Police believe it happened while she was crossing the road to get her mail. 

Police previously determined that the driver of a white commercial vehicle, originally thought to be in the area, has been cleared in the deadly hit-and-run investigation. Police say the driver came forward on his own accord and was very cooperative. 

"Every piece of information is critical to this investigation. We owe that to the family, the community and we're going to continue working very hard to come to some solution in this matter," said Tantalo. 

Meanwhile, Dierna's family continues to plead for the driver responsible to come forward.
