ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Police say a man has life-threatening injuries after a shooting late Saturday night in Rochester.

Police say 23-year-old Marquinn Taylor was taken to the hospital around 11:30 p.m. after officers found him with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

They say it appears Taylor was shot outside on Hudson Avenue near the intersection of Avenue D.

Police say they believe they know what led up to the shooting.

"It appears that he may have been in some type of argument with a suspect. We don’t have a description of a suspect. Like I said, we’re waiting for an update from the hospital,” said Jeff Koehn, Clinton Section command officer.

There is no word yet if anyone has been taken into custody.

Police say he remains at Strong Memorial Hospital with life threatening inuries.
