LYONS, N.Y. — A plea deal Friday for a Wayne County man who admitted to fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death after she denied his romantic advances.

The Wayne County District Attorney's Office says 20-year-old David Knight-Hollis pleaded guilty Friday in connection to the death of 17-year-old Alyssa Taft. Knight-Hollis was charged with second degree murder.

Judge Rick Healy said to Knight-Hollis in court, “When you killed her you killed her entire family.”

Taft was found dead in Sodus back in November. Police say the Sodus High School senior had gone to the home to meet Knight-Hollis under the pretense that she would be paid money owed to her.

When the defendant tried to rekindle their relationship, deputies say he grabbed a knife and killed Taft.

The agreed upon sentence is 20-years-to life and with the plea, Knight-Hollis gives up his right to appeal.
