EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man trying to avoid arrest by parole officers ended up crashing into an East Rochester police car late Monday night.

Sheriff's deputies say they, along with East Rochester police and New York State Parole were trying to arrest 38-year-old Jason Arnold.

They approached him around 11 p.m. in the village of East Rochester.  

Deputies say as Arnold tried to drive away, he hit the police car and took off onto Panorama Trail in Penfield.  

Police later found his car stuck in a ditch along Panorama Trail. 

Fairport Police joined the search and helped find Arnold about a quarter of a mile away near Route 441.  

After a brief foot chase he was taken into custody.
