Kevin Meath, a longtime fixture of Rochester radio, died at the hospital after a Friday morning crash in Henrietta.

Deputies said Meath was driving to work when around 10:45 a.m. on East Henrietta Road, another vehicle coming off of the feeder ramp from Jefferson Road drove out in front of him. Meath's car struck that car, and he spun out.

Meath was taken to Strong where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

Meath was a member of the Rochester Press-Radio Club for 30 years and was widely known for his charity work. A club statement said in part that “Kevin had a big heart and was a very caring and giving person... He supported children’s charities and kids at risk. He was a good man. He is going to be sadly missed."

A witness at the crash told deputies that the other car, driven by 89-year-old Louis Polumbo, car was traveling at high rate of speed when it entered the intersection. Polumbo's car also struck another vehicle in the southbound lane at a red light. Polumbo was hospitalized with injuries described as minor. There were no immediate charges filed.
