A Chautauqua County man admitted he was driving under the influence of drugs when the car he was driving hit two motorcycles in the town of Orangeburg, Wyoming County. One of four people riding on the motorcycles died.

Joshua Huntress, 29 of Mayville, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and three counts of assault. He'll face up to 15 years in state prison at his sentencing, scheduled for January 18.

In July, two motorcycles were traveling on Route 20A near Route 98 when the car driven by Huntress crossed into the oncoming lanes and hit them. Tomasa Martinez later died. She was 66 years old. Three other people, all seriously injured, are struggling to recover, prosecutors say.

One witness called 911 to report the car was swerving all over the road after Huntress left a Warsaw motel, according to District Attorney Donald O'Geen, who added that Huntress "never should have been in Wyoming County or even New York State." O'Geen stated he would elaborate further at sentencing.
