ROCHESTER, N.Y. —  A former Irondequoit police officer who prosecutors say stalked his former girlfriend physically and electronically pleaded guilty Thursday to cyberstalking and computer intrusion.

William Rosica is looking at 60 months in prison and will be sentenced in January.

He admitted to creating fake emails and a false identity to harass the victim.

Rosica said in court he had other people surveilling the victim and her family and then used that information to intimidate her.  The stalking began after the victim ended a three-year relationship with Rosica.

He also admitted in court that he had encouraged the victim to kill herself and attempted to access her work email and other personal accounts on numerous occasions.

The court also said that throughout this investigation they learned that Rosica has harassed several other victims in a similar way.

Each count of cyberstalking and computer intrusion carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, $250,000 fine and up to three years supervised release.

He is due back in court for sentencing on January 9th.
