ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The local hip hop artist who was arrested for his rap lyrics has been released from jail and is sharing his story.

A grand jury decided not to indict Randy Ross on terrorism charges related to his music video 'School Shooter.'

“I didn’t think any of my lyrics would have gotten me in trouble. I thought maybe I would have gotten a trespassing for the video,” said Ross.

Greece Police arrested the 23-year-old because of the controversial song. Ross appeared in the music video in front of several Greece schools. Although Ross made the song in 2017, he posted the video right after the school shooting in Florida.

Greece Police charged him with making a terroristic threat.

Ross was released from jail Friday after a grand jury decided not to indict him.

“I don’t even want to drop anymore music because I'm scared I'm going to say something wrong,” said Ross.

Greece Police issued a statement in regards to Ross' release, saying they are disappointed in the decision.

According to Ross, he lost his job because of the arrest.

“I want to say I am sorry for whoever took it the wrong way and whoever maybe felt unsafe. I just want to say I'm sorry for whoever I impacted in a negative way,” said Ross.

Ross and his lawyer are contemplating whether to take legal action of their own.
