A pay raise for state lawmakers is on the horizon - the first in 20 years.

The legislative salary will go up by 63% phased in over three years.

The first increase - from $79,500 to $110,000, goes into effect on New Years Day, unless lawmakers reject it.

Good government groups are hoping they do.

The group Reclaim New York wants the legislature to address issues like affordability and ethics reform before giving themselves such a big raise.
