ROCHESTER, N.Y. — High fashion eyewear is on sale at one of Rochester's most stylish spec shops.

Eye Openers on Monroe Avenue is holding its annual "Garage Sale" of designer frames and sunglasses.

Owner and optician Richard Levy opened his own practice to sell unique, high-end frames from Europe and Japan.

He started the company 40 years ago out of his home and has been a fixture on Monroe Avenue for nearly two decades.

"I brought them into the city and started showing them and really developed a following, thank goodness," Levy said. "We are now a destination. People know that if they want something unusual they will come to us and we are very fortunate because we are getting people from all over the state — we have many people from the Syracuse, Ithaca and Buffalo area come in to see us."

The frame sale runs through August 18th.
