PERINTON, N.Y. — Next month, a new brew house will open along the Erie Canal in Bushnell's Basin. It'll be the 26th craft brewery in Monroe County, since New York opened the taps to the industry earlier this decade.

Seven Story Brewing is going into a historic 19th century home. Co-owner Casey Dunlavey also opened Lock 32 Brewing in Pittsford just three miles down the canal. He doesn't believe Seven Story will burst the bubble of the local craft brew movement

"I see the entire brewery becoming hyper local and I think you're going to have every little neighborhood is going to have one or two spots," said Dunlavey said. "And that everyone co-exists. Everyone makes different beers. Have a different feel. Every experience is different.

Seven Story Brewing is named to honor the Great Embankment, the seven story earthen wall that contains the canal in Bushnell's Basin.
